Exchange House, a striking 1980s architectural gem suspended above the bustling Liverpool Street Station railway, houses Broadgate Estates' Estate Management offices. Our recent rejuvenation of these aging facilities ensured the uninterrupted workflow of estate workers during the transformation.
Driven by a dual desire to enhance their team's well-being and operational efficiency, Broadgate Estate sought to harmonise contemporary functionality and comforts with the character of the existing infrastructure. Listening intently to the client's needs, we embraced the retained elements of the original architecture throughout. ...
By reclaiming underutilised spaces within the floorplate, we seamlessly integrated additional showers, expanded desk areas, and inviting meeting rooms. Preserving the legacy of Exchange House, we carefully restored its distinctive travertine marble floor, ensuring our design remained a complementary companion.
Our design choices not only enriched the aesthetic aspects of the offices, but also improved legibility and flexibility through careful architectural additions, forging a lasting connection between the old and the new.
Sustainability is always an integral aspect of our design. Here, our efforts have reduced energy consumption, extended the building's lifespan, and championed the ethos of reuse. By prioritising responsible material selection and implementing energy-efficient solutions, our project reflects the commitment of both ourselves and the client to creating a responsible office.
