Between a soaring 18-storey residential tower and the iconic facade of Victoria Station, we have proposed a  new civic square that stitches together different eras of development within this bustling corner of Lonon. This vibrant square,  tying together history and modernity, will become the largest addition to Westminster in over half a century.

At the core of this venture lay the challenge of harmonising the station's historical significance, serving as a poignant gateway to Europe and a farewell point for WWI soldiers, with the bustling urban environment it presided over. Our discerning client sought to revitalise this space, honouring its heritage and creating a communal space for reflection and connection.

To bridge the gap between history and modernity, we envisioned a memorial square. Here, etched into the very fabric of the square's surface, are the names of the fallen soldiers who never returned, forever commemorating their sacrifice and fostering a profound connection between visitors and the past. Within this hallowed space, we've introduced unadorned plinths of Belgian black granite, offering a focal point that connects with the revered Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This stone, resting briefly at our site, found its eternal home in Westminster Abbey, echoing our commitment to weaving history into our design.

In our unwavering dedication to responsible design, we've embedded sustainable elements within this project. By creating a lasting, meaningful space, we promote longevity and reduce the need for future redevelopment. Additionally, our choice of materials, such as Belgian black granite, ensures durability and longevity. These unassuming choices underline our commitment to both honouring history and preserving the future.
